Thinking about community

I have, over the years, give a lot of thought to and given a lot of work on community.  In this case, I mean the places people live and work, not on-line communities.  I have thought while working, as a Main Street Manager, as director of a regional program coordinating environmental assessments and cleanup to aid redevelopment and reuse of Brownfields properties.  We call this “asset-based” development, land and building reuse.  It makes a difference, very gradually.

I plan to write about this and other things having to do with community.

 

 

 

Thinking about and working on community

I have, over the years, given a lot of thought to and put a lot of work into community. In this case, I mean the places people live and work, not the ones we inhabit on-line. This is known as asset-based development and it works, only very gradually.
